As a Freemove sail, the Torro is the perfect
combination of wave, freestyle and freeride
characteristics.
The conclusion of the German Surf magazine in their
test report about the Torro 2008 summed it up:
“The Gun Sails Torro is directly in the middle of
all these characteristics, therefore, it fits
perfectly into the Freemove group.” (surf magazine
03/2008)
Early planing, manoeuvrability and outstanding speed
resources are the key points of this versatile sail.
The reduced boom length makes it extremely easy to
handle, it feels well-balanced and offers a
significantly high comfort in a wide wind range.
The Torro is equipped with a camless narrow mast
sleeve which rotates very softly, the luff tension
is reduced and can be easily adjusted thanks to the
built in trim rolls.
The size specific batten configuration of 5 battens
without tubes provide up to size 5,3 a much better
handling. From size 5,7 on, the profile is supported
by one tube batten for better flat water
performance.
Our advice:
If you need a crossover sail which is more suited to
sailing straight and performance, then we would
recommend the Nexus. If you tend more towards
manoeuvres and freestyle, go for the Torro.
Key facts:
Versatile sail with an extraordinary wide range of
use
Optimum mixture of handling and performance
Size specific batten configuration
Best freestyle suitability in our sail range
