There are many things to consider when planning your quiver but the key factors are firstly the optimum sail for your board(s) and secondly the size gap between each sail (the increment). You will get the best results from your quiver if the increment is based on a percentage rather than a fixed amount e.g. half a square metre.

To use the Gun Sails generator, enter the percentage increment you require and your key sail. Choices for key sail in order of preference are:-

• The optimum sail for one of your boards (i.e. the manufacturers recommended maximum size)
• A favourite sail size that you want your quiver to include
• The largest or the smallest sail that you would normally use

Notes:

1. To cater for the wide range of sailor types from wave to light wind, the generator will show a range of sails from 2.5 sqm or thereabouts up to 11.0 sqm or so, just pick 4 or 5 consecutive sails from the list that suit you.
2. Ideally the generated quiver will include the optimum sails for all your boards. If not you may have the wrong combination of boards, or too large an increment.
3. The default increment of 15% is a good start point. You can increase this to 17 or even 20% if you choose sails with a wide wind range.
